Manuel de Olaso

He holds a degree in Music, he graduated from the Centre for Advanced Studies in Contemporary Music (CEAMC). He studied piano with Agustina Herrera, Cármen Baliero, Haydee Schvartz and Fernando Pérez; he studied the harpsichord with Jorge and Maria de Lourdes Lavista Cutolo, and composition with Coriún Aharonian. He is the organist of the Louis Berger Group, led by Ricardo Massun, with which he has taken part in several international festivals in Mexico, Chile, France and Argentina. He is the harpsichordist of the Compañía de las Luces, led by Marcelo Birman. With this ensemble he has performed the operas: Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme and Armide by Lully, Les Danaides by Salieri, Ifigenia en Táuride by Gluck, and Castor & Pollux e Hipolite et Aricie by Rameau, and has recorded the last three titles on CD.

He teaches privately and at the Conservatory “Manuel de Falla” in Ancient Music Studies. He worked as assistant director to Juan Manuel Quintana in the operas Agrippina, Rodelinda (Händel), L'incoronazione di Poppea and Il Ritorno Ulisse in patria, by Monteverdi (Buenos Aires Lírica); he also performed as a harpsichordist. For the same Association, he was in charge of the recitatives in La Clemenza di Tito and Serse (Händel). He has performed with recognized soloists such as Rafael Gíntoli, Víctor Torres, Gerardo Gandini, amongst others. He is also a member of the trio Ipso Pucho, where he plays Latin American music with his own arrangements.
